Minutes of FOCUS Committee Meeting Monday 10th September Present: Mrs Birkett, Julie Gartel, Tracey Paice, Sue Grimshaw, Louise Amphlett , Katie James, Tina Readington cc. Lynne Bowmen, Wendy Willis, Ann Hynett, Lynne Lye
Quiz Night Friday 28th September Letter’s to go out either Thurs/Fri 13 or 14 Sept price to stay the same £5.00 F & C or £3.00 S & C. Number’s to be known by Weds 26th. Clive James to be quiz master he will make questions up etc. 8 per team including children. Balloon and wine for winner’s and spoon’s and lemon’s loser’s. £1 bucket raffle to be done during the break. 4 loaves to be brought and buttered. Cake Sale Year’s 3 & 4 Cake sale letter’s to go out to Year’s 3/4 Friday 14/9 Cake Sale notice to go in newsletter and on the notice board Friday as well if possible. Helper’s to bag Sue Grimshaw and Helen if possible, seller’s Sue Grimshaw and Louise Amphlett. Float for this to come out of the ice-cream money. Disco Friday 12th October Disco booked already Tickets to be £3.00. Julie to liase with Wendy re crisps and juice to buy. Y3 & Y4 Katie James and Louise Amphlett Y5 & Y6 Sue Grimshaw and Tracey Paice JD please put in newsletter and send slips home reminding the week before also on the outside notice board week of the disco. Christmas Fair Friday 7th December Started to talk about stalls etc. Louise to investigate an Xmas Tom bola and possibly a soft toy one. Investigate and buy the children’s raffle prize ready for Par Days in November. possible prizes IPod Nano, portable DVD Player or TV, PSP etc. Julie check raffle tickets. Book the Candy Floss machine. Letter’s can go out as soon as possible Katie has very kindly offered to help send them out and I will email standard letter to her with list of addresses as soon as possible. Confirm stalls etc at next meeting also what we need to start buying etc. Yes we are going to have a decoration table need to check what we have in the cupboard left from last Xmas. Treasure Hunt Christmas Tree Louise has the disc for the ball baubles Sue is going to ask Kevin he would possibly be able to draw a large tree and paint then put onto mdf or something for us to use. A.O.B Sue and Louise to meet with Heather to talk over the accounts etc Louise to go into Wallington TSB to let them know who she is Mrs Birkett has requested that we spend £3000.00 approx on a Inter-activce whiteboard for the hall and a small portable cooker for Year 5 cooking approx £170 this was agreed by the committee. Julie to sell ice poles for as long as possible we really need some one to sell at the end of school as Julie, Lynne and I are not always around put a note in newsletter or on notice board. We need to find a new auditor for our books. Tracey to send a parent newsletter out as soon as possible. To include information on what the money is spent on ie library package £1000.00, £1600.00 for year groups, £3000.00 interactive board of the hall new cooker for Year 5. Louise asked about the possibility of bingo and Julie mentioned dog Racing. Will possibly have that after Christmas. AGM booked for 8th October followed by committee meeting. Minutes of FOCUS Committee Meeting Monday 14th May 2007 Present:- Mrs Birkett Louise Amphlett Julie Gartel Tracey Paice Heather Dennis Sue Grimshaw cc. Lynne Bowmen, Jackie Doyle, Wendy Willis Cake Sales Y5 & Y6 Weds 2nd May This made a profit of £37.00. Disco’s Last disco made a profit of £277.70 a good time was had by all. Ice Poles Mrs Gartell has started to sell these weather permitting Summer Fete Friday 8th June 2007 FOCUS newsletter sent out on Friday but very few responses have come through will send another one out ASAP. It was decided that we change both banners to read Fete here this Friday. We need a face painter if possible to do cheek paints and arm ones not full face unless requested. We also require lots of crockery for Kitchen Smash !! Tracey to put in newsletter again. Louise has investigated a Summer Tombola and came up with some terrific prizes etc . Also the purchase of prizes for the stalls that are needed. Mrs Birkett to talk the teachers re the buggy race to make sure that’s all running smoothly. Also to speak to Mrs Patel to maybe donate a jar of sweets re guess how many are in a bottle. Speak to parent or child in connection to £ shop ? A.O.B. Mrs Doyle to put as much relevant info about Summer Fete/Mufti Day in newsletter as possible i.e help needed,crockery for kitchen,face painter,any parent who is a hairdresser or manicurist who would be willing to donate a prize.
