Global Awareness Garden Title Bar

Our garden has been designed to reflect the different cultural backgrounds of our school community and to raise awareness of the climatic changes now affecting our land.

Architecurally we have included an Oriental pergola, a Chinese Willow Pattern Bridge and a Mediterranean obelisk to represent the classical cultures of Egypt, Greece and Rome.

Water use/efficiency is becoming critical in Sutton and we have carefully sourced plants from around the world that can withstand periods of drought. Sensory planting has been included from Europe, North America, New Zealand, the Mediterranean and the Far East.

Our Global Awareness Garden will offer a wonderful outside learning environment that will link with many areas of the school curriculum.

The bamboo wind chimes were made by Indonesian natives and a percentage of the profits are paid to the Orangutan rescue centre.
