Year 6 made these shelters.
We made these shelters for Design and Technology. These shelters are very unusual.
The shelters are designed to fit Teddy in them, scroll down and look on the right and you might even spot him! The shelters were designed for a specific type of weather: sun, wind, rain, snow, sleet or a specific use: bus, protection for food for example a hot dog stand, to chill out.
Whoever made the best model will be able to name Teddy.
We used these materials wood, cardboard, dowel, felt, straws, corrugated cardboard, PVA glue, lollypop sticks, papers and matches.
We used these tools: saw, clamp, glue gun, card triangles, rulers, pencils and scissors.
We had a number of problems when buildings our shelters.
Alfie had problems getting the roof on. "Everytime I put it on, because it wasn't very strong, the shelter fell over."
"There was not enough time to finish our structures."
George had problems finding enough materials. "I couldn't find any match sticks. A lot of people didn't have enough wood."
Aimee had problems with the glue gun. "I burnt my thumb and my little finger."
Harry had problems with the glue gun. "It would not stick and I could not find what I wanted."
