In addition to the curriculum areas already mentioned, we provide
further
opportunities to widen the children's experiences.
Children will have the opportunity to visit places of interest, such as farms, museums, and . exhibitions to support and complement the curriculum. They may also visit theatres and workshops so that they can experience live theatre.
As part of the art curriculum, in Year 3 and Year 5 children
visit the National Gallery and Tate Britain so that each child becomes familiar with
this aspect of our heritage.
In Year 6 the children go on a school journey, which benefits them
both educationally and socially, as well as the geographical and
historical aspects. It also includes outdoor pursuits and team
building activities.
Members of staff voluntarily run weekly clubs, which take place
in the lunch hour and after school. These include a study club,
the choir, recorder, maths, netball, and gym, and may include art,
chess, drama and dance. Children are also encouraged to use the library during break and lunch-times.
All clubs are open to both boys and girls.
There is also an after school football club run by an outside
organisation.
Privately run lessons in French, violin, flute, and clarinet are
available
